Election site workers wanted in Warren County


WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Warren County is looking to hire poll workers and election site staffers as the election season approaches. Applicants must live in Warren County, be registered to vote in Warren County, and be at least 17 years old.

Applicants who are 17 must have parental consent and be an enrolled student. Positions are paid $240 for 16 hours of work on Election Day, $120 for eight hours of work for early voting duties, and $50 for a three-hour training session.

Basic duties include:

  • Prepare the polling place for voting
  • Set up voting equipment
  • Sign in voters, and assist them if requested
  • Demonstrate voting procedures to voters
  • Sanitize voting equipment and close polling places after voting ends
  • Canvass the polls when voting ends and report the results

“We expect heavy voter turnout for our next Presidential Election, and it will be important for our Board of Elections to be fully staffed and trained to make sure that all voters have the opportunity to cast their ballot,” said Kevin Geraghty, Chairman of the Warren County Board of Supervisors. “We would like to see Warren County residents of all ages step up to help our Board of Elections at the polls.”
